TRIO WITH MERITORIOUS UNIT CITATION: Australian Active Service Medal 1991, - clasp - East Timor; INTERFET Medal 2000; Australian Defence Medal 2006. 1810937 B K Turnbull on first two medals, R172033 B K Turnbull on last medal. All medals pantographed. Court mounted and in a purpose built Australian Army storage case, extremely fine.

Together with Meritorious Unit Citation (MUC); Army Individual Readiness Notification badge (AIRN); Army Combat Badge (ACB); Returned from Active Service badge (QC); Defence Family pin (Army) (2, one with original card); Rising Sun hat badge (QC); Royal Australian Army Ordnance Corps hat badge (QC); matching set of miniatures and ribands for medals, MUC and ACB; Army colour patch for 1st Civil Liaison (now Civil Affairs Branch, HQs Northern Command);

Copy of International Force East Timor Certificate of Appreciation to Pte B.Turnbull dated 22 January 2000, 'for your significant contribution in logistic support as part of 10 Force Support Battalion (IFET), Logistic Support Force and assistance in the restoration of peace in East Timor on Operation Warden - 1999/2000.'

MUC: Awarded for service with 10th Force Support Battalion during Operation Warden in East Timor. The Governor of Queensland, Maj-Gen Peter Arnison, awarded the citation during a parade at Lavarack Barracks on Saturday, 13 April 2002, attended by CA Lt-Gen Peter Cosgrove, Commander of the LSF Brigade Doug Tyers, Commander 3 Bde Brig Mark Kelly and RSM-A WO Brian Houghton. 10th Force Support Battalion was the first logistics unit to be awarded the MUC.

Brian Kenneth Turnbull, born 26Aug1975; Enl.06Aug1996; recruit trainee with Training Force Establishment, 1RTB; 20Dec1996 2nd Field Logistic Bn; 01Mar1998 10 Force Support Bn; Mar1999 made enquiries regarding service in French Foreign Legion (copy of letter of reply enclosed); to East Timor 01Oct1999; RTA 22Jan2000; Disch.26Mar2000; Enlisted in RAN 27Mar2000 and under training at Cerberus; Home Port - Cairns, Queensland; 24Aug 2000 classified as Medically Unfit; Disch.04Feb2001 and now TPI.
