MID: Second Supplement to LG 22/1/1919, p1162, to Lt. W.H.Smithett, 1st Bn 72nd Punjabis attd 28th Punjabis for services to Egyptian Expeditonary Forces during period from 16th March to 18th September 1918.
William Hamilton Smithett retired from Indian Army as a Captain 24Dec1922, LG 13/4/1923, p2731. He was the son of Lt Col Arthur Cecil Hamilton Smithett, CO of 76th Punjabis, who DOW 24Nov1915 at age 52 and is commemorated at the Basra Memorial.
