VAN DIEMEN'S LAND, correspondence from Francis G.Tabart, Hobart Town 26th Sept 1843 to John Whitefoord, Police Magistrate, Oatlands, a two-page letter requesting his assistance to give news of the death of his daughter Laura to Mrs Tabart; another letter from Maida Hill (West London) to Miss Tabart, a two-page letter written by Miss Tabart's aunt in England, year unknown. Fine - very fine. (2)

Francis Gerard Tabart was a former Naval Lieutenant and friend of Sir John Franklin. There was a book privately published, titled Tabart of Fonthill: from England to Van Diemen's Land, by K.Jane Evans, 1991. His daughter Laura Euphemia Tabart was born at Van Diemen's Land on 10 November 1825 and died there on 26 September 1843. With research.
