ITALY, passport (Foglio di Via), single page printed and handwritten on both sides, from Bologna Police, issued to Prof. Alfonso Corradi to travel from Bologna to Palermo (Sicily), with affixed pair of fifty centesimi duty stamps, 11 November 1867; bestowal document, printed and handwritten from The Minister of Education to Prof. Alfonso Corradi for the award of Knight in the Order of the Crown of Italy, 29 August 1876 (only the 30th person to receive the award at that time). The first document rare, some foxing, otherwise good very fine. (2)

Prof. Alfonso Corradi (1833-1892) was rector of the University of Pavia and professor of 'materia medica', general therapeutics and experimental pharmacology and is particularly known as an historian of medicine. His writings of books and articles are quoted in several medical related books.
