TIBERIUS, (A.D. 14-37), silver denarius, contemporary German or Indian imitation, (3.53g), obv. laureate head of Tiberius to right, around [TI] CAESAR DIVI AVG F AVGVSTVS, rev. PONTIF MAXIM, Livia seated to right, with vertical sceptre and branch, (cf.S.1763, cf.RIC 26, cf.RSC 16a, BMC 34). Some porosity, off centre on reverse, otherwise very fine and a scarce contemporary imitation.
