DOMITIAN, (A.D. 81-96), silver denarius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 89, (3.55 gm), obv. laureate head of Domitian to right, around IMP CAES DOMIT AVG GERM P M TR P VIII, rev. around IMP XIX COS XIIII CENS P P P, Minerva standing to left, holding spear, (cf.S.2731, BMC 154, RIC 140, RSC 250). Full flan, nearly extremely fine and scarce.

The Reka Devnia hoard contained 81,044 silver denarii and 632 denarii of this ruler but only 7 examples of this variety.
