MN. CORDIUS RUFUS, (46 B.C.), silver denarius, Rome mint, (3.96 g), obv. conjoined diademed heads of the Dioscuri to right, each surmounted by a star, [RV]FVS III VIR below and behind, rev. Venus Verticordia standing left, holding scales and sceptre, Cupid on her shoulder, MN CORDIVS behind, (S.440, Cr.463/1b, Syd.976c, RSC Cordia 1). Attractively toned, area of flat striking, otherwise very fine or better and scarce.
