SCIPIO IMPERATOR, Q. Caecilius Mettellus Pius Scipio, (Imperator 47-46 B.C.), silver denarius, Africa mint, (3.70 g), obv. head of Africa to right, wearing elephant's skin, corn stalk and Q. ME[TELL] before, [plough] below, [SCIP]IO IMP behind, rev. Hercules standing facing [EP]PIVS on right, LEG FC on left, (S.1380, Cr.461/1, Syd.1051, RSC Caecilia 50a). Off centred, lightly toned, banker's mark on obverse, good fine and very rare.

Less than 30 obverse dies calculated for this type issued, according to Crawford.
