CELTIC, Treviri (around Treves), (c.100-50 B.C.), copy of gold stater in base electrum, (4.60 g), obv. crude head to right, with a large globular eye between two oblique lines, stars radiating to the eye, rev. horse to left, two concentric annulets between the legs and an annulet to left before the horse, MW below, (De La Tour 8815, Scheers Rouen 735, Scheers Traite II). A cast copy of the electrum-gold stater, very fine and a rare type.
