THE NATIONAL BANK OF NEW ZEALAND LIMITED, first issue, one pound, Dunedin, 2nd Mar. 1874, A No.5243, imprint of Perkins, Bacon & Co. London (Robb J.12[this note]; L.490; P.S291). Many creases and folds, old ink stains, otherwise nearly fine and very rare.

The National Bank of New Zealand Limited commenced the issue of notes on 5 September 1873. This is probably the earliest note in existence from this bank with Robb recording it as the only known issued example of the first issue.
