IRELAND, Edward VIII, 1937 dated Crowns, 'Patina' retrospective pattern series. Obverse: King left by Percy Metcalfe. Reverse: ornate Irish harp. one set of eight plain edge proofs in silver coated piedfort, golden alloy, nickel silver, aluminium, copper piedfort, gold coated copper piedfort, platinum coloured alloy and bronzed copper (this last a unique experimental piece). One set of four milled edge proofs in nickel silver, aluminium, golden alloy, copper piedfort. Uncirculated. (12)
Only 12 pieces made for each metal alloy, only one made of the bronzed copper.
