IRELAND, Edward VIII, undated Crowns 'Patina' retrospective pattern series. Obverse: portrait of King left by D.R. Golder, Reverse: ornate Irish harp, one set of nine plain edge proofs struck in 0.925 Silver, nickel silver. piedfort copper, silver coated piedfort, platinum coloured alloy, aluminium, golden alloy, gold-coated copper piedfort (similar to Barton's metal) and bronzed copper (this last a unique experimental piece); one set of seven milled edge, proofs in aluminium, golden alloy, gold coated copper piedfort (similar to Barton's metal) copper piedfort, silver coated piedfort, platinum coloured alloy, nickel silver. Uncirculated. (16)
Only 12 pcs of each metal made, only one of the bronzed copper.
