INDIA, WWII, Residency Club, Lucknow, chit Book No.3422, value one rupee, cover only, also chits for one anna and two annas, both printed from Book No.8517. The cover very fine, the chits, one with a small paper chip at left edge, otherwise both uncirculated. (3)

The Residency of Lucknow is a memorial building complex for the revolt of 1857 and still has within its walls the graves of about 2,000 British soldiers who died in the India Mutiny of 1857. The Residency Club is located there and is now called the Lucknow Club.
