USA, NATIONAL GUARD, Very Accurate Signalman decoration, in silver. No ribbon, good very fine.

In National Guard notes published in The New York Times, 3 June 1894, it states, 'The Second Brigade Signal Corps commanded by Capt. Frederick T.Leigh gave an exhibition drill in the Bedford Riding Academy last monday night. The Corps was first received by Brig James McLear, after which the decoration inscribed 'For Accurate Signalman' was presented to three members of the Corps. Mayor Schieren was present.
