PAIR WITH TRIBUTE FOB TO TASMANIAN: Queen's South Africa Medal 1899, (type 2 reverse with ghost dates), - five clasps - Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Johannesburg, Diamond Hill, Belfast; King's South Africa Medal, - two clasps - South Africa 1901, South Africa 1902. 26 Pte W.D.Branagan, Tasmanian M.R. on first medal, 129 Serjt: D.Branagan. Tasmanian I.B. on second medal. Both medals impressed. Contact marks, very fine.

Ex Downies Auction 273 (lot 1219). Together with a rare Boer War tribute fob by Stewart in 15ct gold (approx 7gm; 26mm cross), obverse inscribed, '1rst./Tasmn./Contgt/South Africa/1899-1900', reverse inscribed, 'To/W.Branagan/From/Cmbl.Town/Friends'.
