PAIR TO TASMANIAN WIA: Distinguished Conduct Medal (EVIIR); Queen's South Africa Medal 1899, (type 3 reverse), - four clasps - Cape Colony, Rhodesia, Orange Free State, Transvaal. 146 Serjt: G.Kemsley. Tasmanian Cont: on first medal, 146 Sergt G.Kemsley 1st Tasmanian Bushmen on second medal. Both medals impressed, 1st and Bushmen on second medal engraved. Court mounted, toned extremely fine and rare.

Ex Alex Kaplan Auction B14 (lot 413). Only four DCMs awarded to Tasmanians. DCM: LG 31/10/1902, p6909, posn 24. MID: 7/5/ 1901, p3114, posn 1. MID: dated 23/6/1902 by Lord Kitchener: LG 29/7/1902, p4855, posn 28. Wounded 10Aug1900 near Wonderfontein. With research.
