A.Aust:I.B. on second medal, 3501 Pte J.H.Swanson. 10/Bn. A.I.F. on third medal, 3501 SQMS: J.H.Swanson 10 Bn A.I.F. on last two medals. All medals impressed. Court mounted, good very fine.
Ex Wide Bay Miltary Antiques, 7 February 1986. James Hamilton Swanson, born 27Aug1881 at Adelaide. Served in South Australian Forces as a gunner in the Machine Gun Corps. Enlisted in Oct1899 as a private No.36 in 1st South Australian Mounted Rifles. Returned from South Africa and then re-enlisted with 6th South Australian Imperial Bushmen as No. 615, Sergeant. On 26Jul1915 enlisted in AIF, 10Bn as No.3501, Private and reaching rank of Quartermaster Sergeant. With research.
