EDWARD VIII D G BR OMN REX around, Reverse, Kiwi standing on ornamental sphere, within inner circle, outer legend reads: NEW ZEALAND 1937; Proof sterling silver, silver coated piedfort, gold-coated piedfort, golden alloy, piedfort copper, aluminium and platinum coloured alloy. Uncirculated. (7)
Mintage of only 18 pieces for each metal and type. This and many of the other halfcrown and Florin size pieces are featured in J.S Giordano Jr's book `Portraits of a Prince' p 659-660 and Colin Bruce-Krause's `Unusual World Coins 5th Edition p.406.
