NATIONAL BANK OF TASMANIA LIMITED, specimen one pound, Ringarooma, 18-, No 003000, imprint Sands & McDougall Limited Melbourne, rubber stamped 'cancelled' four times on the front (MVR type 2, domicile unlisted and earlier date period). Pin holes centre left, a 1cm tear bottom centre edge, lower right corner crease, two vertical bends, otherwise crisp, nearly extremely fine and believed to be unique.

This bank was formed out of a reconstruction in 1885 of the Bank of Tasmania which was founded in 1853. The bank operated in northern and north-western Tasmania. It was purchased by the Commercial Bank of Australia in 1918.
