DOMITIAN, (A.D. 81-96), gold aureus, Rome mint, issued A.D. 86, (7.43 grams), obv. laureate head of Domitian to right, around IMP CAES DOMIT AVG GERM PM TR P VI, rev. Germania as mourning captive naked to waist, seated on a German shield to right, broken spear below, around IMP XIIII COS XII CENS P PP, (cf.S.2703, RIC 83, BMCRE 94). Slightly uneven flan, holed twice for suspension, otherwise good fine and rare.
