T. CARISIUS, (46 B.C.), silver denarius, Rome mint, (3.76 grams), obv. head of Juno Moneta to right, MONET[A] behind, rev. cap of Vulcan over anvil between tongs and hammer, T. CARISIVS above, (S.447, Cr.464/2, Syd.982, B. Carisia 1b). Toned with blue and gold highlights, reverse off centre, nearly extremely fine and very scarce.

Ex Spink & Son with ticket. This coin is a direct allusion to the office of moneyer.
