THESSALY, Thessalian League, (c.196-mid 1st century B.C.), silver drachm, (3.938 grams), Larissa mint, obv. head of Apollo to right, laureate, behind a monogram, rev. Athena Itonia advancing to right, brandishing spear and holding shield, on sides **QESSA LWN*, above, between figure A N/T I, (cf.S.2234, McClean 4974 [p.243, Pl.180,15]). Bright, nearly very fine and rare.
