MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver drachm, (4.26 grams), Lampsacus mint, issued c.310-301 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, uncertain symbol under throne, forepart of Pegasos to left in left field, **ALEXANDROU* to right, (cf.S.6730, cf.Price 1387). Bright, extremely fine.
