ITALY, Lucania, Metapontum, (c.480 B.C.), silver stater, (8.02 grams), obv. six grain ear of corn, META upwards on left, rev. six grain ear of corn, incuse, (cf.S.238, Noe 202, cf.SNG ANS 237, cf.SNG Cop. 1165, cf.SNG Lockett 369). Good very fine, very rare set of dies known by an example in the Fred Forbat Collection in Sweden SNG and a published hoard.
