GORDIAN III, (A.D. 238-244), silver antoninianus, uncertain Eastern mint, possibly Antioch, issued A.D. 242-4, obv. radiate bust right, around IMP GORDIANVS PIVS FEL AVG, rev. ORIENS AVG, Sol standing left holding globe and raising hand, (S.8626, RIC 213, RSC 167). Some light surface roughness, otherwise bright, extremely fine with some mint bloom.
