NETHERLANDS, seige of Groningen and Coevorden, 1672, in silver (52mm, 32.5gms), unsigned, obv. Groningen City view showing river and fortressed walls, in foreground the besieging troops of the Bishops of Munster and Cologne, rev. similar view of Coevorden, the besieging troops deployed in foreground (cf.Van Loon 110; cf.French 104). Lovely old even patination, extremely fine or better and very rare.

A very similar example was sold in our Sale 49 (lot 1376) November 1995.
