FIRST ISSUE, proof five pounds, uniface, on card, without branch name, 18-, imprint of Perkins, Bacon & Co. London, Patent Hardened Steel Plate, horizontal SPECIMEN stamp below in 'Manager' area and vertically (Robb.PTU2b). Some scuffing, otherwise good very fine.

Believed to be an 1862 trial, probably ex Perkins Bacon Archive.
