CHARLES I, (1625 - 1649), Tower mint under king, silver crown, mm rose over feathers, issued 1631-2, Group II, type 2b1, (29.90 grams), rev. plumes over shield between C R, (S.2756, N.2192, Cooper X+/XII+, Brooker 245 [this coin]). Toned, round and attractive, very fine and very scarce.

Ex Spink, London, November 1982 from the Numismatic Circular, October 1982 (No.7423), and previously from the John Brooker Collection (No.245), who acquired it from Lord (Rodney) Smith of Marlow Collection (item 61), previously purchased by Spink London for John Godfrey Brooker, also coming from the W. Bertram Thorpe Collection, Glendining’s 25 November 1921 (lot 80) with tickets.
