ADELAIDE EXHIBITION, 1881, award medal in silver gilt (30mm), inscribed on reverse "J. Wilson/London/Bell Trap". Extremely fine.

These medals were overstruck on English gothic florins. There were two varieties of the obverse and two of the reverse. Note ’1881’ serifs or plain, bow of wreath thick or thin. Refer to our Sale 88, lots 961-963, the Dr John M. Chapman Collection.
