Estimate $3,000
Bid at live.noble.com.au
SOLD $2,900

BOLIVIA, Charles III, cob eight reales, Potosi Mint, 1761 V, (26.7 grams), (KM.45). Grey tone, an unusually round example with two clear dates, good very fine for issue and very rare as a round cob.

Ex C.B. Hillman, S.R. Mort, (G.C. Heyde?) and J. Smith Collection. This lot also includes a detailed G.C.Heyde description and rubbing as well as a further note and rubbing by S.R. Mort. The coin was not in the Heyde Collection at the time of the sales by G.K. Gray in the early 1970's. Mort's collection was totally acquired by Heyde, consequently it must have been sold earlier than 1970 by either Heyde or Mort.

Estimate / sale price does not include buyer's premium (currently 22% including GST) which is added to hammer price. All bids are executed on the understanding that the Terms & Conditions of sale have been read and accepted. For information on grading and estimates please refer to the Buying at Auction advice.
