STAFFORDSHIRE, Stafford, W. Horton's penny, 1801, arms (castle and four lions)/cypher W.H. and a Staffordshire knot (D&H 4) die break on the reverse longer than on the D&H plate coin. Attractive red and blue brown uncirculated and scarce.
Ex W.J. Noble Collection, Sale 58B (lot 834) and purchased from Spink in 1973.
