NICEPHORUS I AND STAURACIUS, (802-811), AE follis, (2.164 grams), struck at Syracuse mint, issued from 803-811, obv. Facing standing bust of Nicephorus wearing crown and loros holding cross potent N to left and to right **I/K]H, rev. facing bust of Stauracius beardless wearing crown and chlamys, holding cross on globe, to left [C] to right [T/A]/V, (S.1612, DOC 10, BMC 13-14, Spahr 351). Some of the ethnic visible, short on flan as usual, otherwise very fine and rare.
