NIGRINIAN, grandson of Carus, (A.D. 268), issue struck by Carinus after death, Rome mint, billon antoninianus, issued 284, (2.67 grams), obv. DIVO NIGRINIANO, radiate head to right of Nigrinian, rev. around CONSECRATIO, eagle facing head to left, in exergue KAA, (S.12412, cf.RIC 472, C.3). Heavy surface corrosion, nearly fine/poor and very rare.
