SEVERUS ALEXANDER, (A.D.222-235), silver denarius, issued 230, Rome mint, (3.29 grams), obv. laureate head to right, around IMP SEV ALE XAND AVG, rev. VIRTVS AVG, Virtus seated to left on cuirass, holding branch and sceptre, (S.7937, RIC 221, RSC 580); Maximinus I, (A.D. 235-238), silver denarius, Rome mint, issued 235. (2.66 grams), obv. laureate bust draped and cuirassed of Maximinus I to right, around IMP MAXIMINVS PIVS AVG, rev. Fides standing to left, holding two standards, around FIDES MILITVM, (cf.S.8307, RIC 7A, RSC 7). Good very fine. (2)
