SYRIA, Seleucis & Pieria, Laodiceia ad Mare, Septimius Severus, (A.D. 193-211), billon tetradrachm, (14.780 grams), issued 209-211, obv. laureate draped bust right of Septimius Severus, around AVT KAI CEOYHPOC CE, rev. eagle facing open wings, head to left with wreath, star between legs, around, **DHMARC EX UPATO G*, (cf.S.2261, Prieur 1163). Silvered surface, some hoard patination, otherwise nearly extremely fine and scarce.
