LYDIA, Tralles, (c.155-145 B.C.), silver cistophoric tetradrachm, (12.496 grams), obv. cista mystica containing serpent, all within ivy wreath, rev. bow in case between two coiled serpents, to left **TRAL*, to right a warrior striding to the right, (cf.S.4745, Kleiner and Noe Series 20, No.41, BMC 14, Pinder 140, SNG von Aulock 3249). Very fine and scarce.

Ex Garth R. Drewry Collection, previously from CNG Electronic Auction Sale 156 (lot 60, realised US $171) and previously from Frank R. Robinson Mail Bid Sale 54, September 11, 2002 (lot 155, illustrated) together with earlier tickets and photos.
