SABINA, wife of Hadrian, (died A.D. 137), gold aureus, Rome mint, (7.00 grams), obv. draped bust to right of Sabina, with hair coiled and piled on back of head behind tiara, SABINA AVGVSTA around, rev. Vesta seated to left, holding palladium and sceptre, around VESTA, (S.1183, RIC 397b, C.79). Very fine, trace of mint bloom around letters, and very rare.
