JENKINS, William. No ( ) Sydney, (May) 18(12) W. Jenkins. I Promise to Pay the Bearer the Sum of One Shilling, on Demand, in copper coin. 1s. (Wm Jenkins) (MVR type W) on watermarked ribbed paper. Minute "pin holes", small tear top edge, otherwise fine and very rare.
Ex W.G. & L.M. Wright Collection (Sale 89, lot 1887). This and most of the following lots from the above collection, originate from the collection of Dr G.H. Abbott, at whose auction at Lawson's in Sydney in 1943, they were purchased by Edward Wills who sold them on to W.G. Wright, probably via D. Raymond in about 1947. Abbott had displayed most and illustrated two or three in his report to the Australian Numismatic Society in July 1918.
