FIFTIETH ANNIVERSARY OF FOUNDATION OF INDEPENDENT LITHUANIA, in bronze (51mm) by K.G.L. (K.G.Luke) Melb, obverse, bust of Augustinas Voldemaras - 1883, reverse, legend in Lithuanian, issued by the Lithuanian admirers of the controversial A.Voldemaras. With bakelite case of issue. Uncirculated.

Augustinas Voldemaras (1883-) born near Vilnius, he became the first President of independent Lithuania in 1918.

He was a controversial political figure in Lithuania in the period 1918-1940 and after the occupation by Russia in
