LIFE SAVING MEDAL, 1866, in silver using a China War Medal 1857, with the reverse image of medal being skillfully removed by machining, then inscribed 'Presented / to / William Pullen / as a reward for bravery / in saving a fellow creature / from drowning in / Hobsons Bay / 22nd November / 1866'. Possibly the earliest award medal for life saving in Victoria, very fine and unique.
