Lot 543    SESSION 2 (11.30am Tuesday)    Miscellaneous

Estimate $200
Bid at live.noble.com.au
SOLD $900

BOOK PRINTERS PLATES, both sides of a one thousand pound note, Kell/Collins (1924) 2A 64703 (cf.R.70b), steel on wooden blocks, plate size (147mm x 100mm), cancelled with two diagonal lines each side. Very fine. (2)

Of uncertain origin and age (possibly c.1960's), probably used to print book plates. The size and cancellation lines would suggest that permission was obtained from the Reserve Bank of Australia to reproduce the note.

Estimate / sale price does not include buyer's premium (currently 22% including GST) which is added to hammer price. All bids are executed on the understanding that the Terms & Conditions of sale have been read and accepted. For information on grading and estimates please refer to the Buying at Auction advice.
