MESOPOTAMIA, Mari (now Tell Hariri) on the mid-Euphrates, handmade shell rings, c.2147-2136 B.C., diameter 22mm. Very fine. (4)

All with certificates of source and identification (Dr. H.N. Pollard) who values collection at US$1000. The precise purpose of manufacture was probably ornamental as finger rings but probably also had a monetary value by exchange.
