AUSTRALIA, World War I, identity disc 4536 / 58 Btn / P / J.W.Lumsden, together with handwritten poem "58 Batt Sick Parade" by Pte Lumsden, "I have heard the shrapnel shrieking and the bullets whizzing round and the shells rip up the ground. But the only sound that ever has made my heart afraid was the voice of Captain Hausen on the morning sick parade"... Fine.

4536 Pte John Wells Lumsden. Born Scotsburn, Victoria, Enl.14Jul1915 K.I.A.02Sep1918 Battle of Peronne. Buried at Assevillers, New British Cemetery, Plot 7 Row B Grave 2. Together with photograph and programme for sports meeting (repaired) held at sea 1916 on H.M.Transport A.37.
