MYSIA, Pergamum, Caracalla, (A.D. 193-217), AE 43, (41.98 grams), obv. Caracalla laureate bust to right draped and cuirassed, around legend AVT KPAT KAV KOC AVP ANT**W*NEINOC, with countermark of wreath on right field, Rev. Caracalla in military dress on horse to right, before him stands turreted figure of the Tyche of Pergamum, holding a statue of Asklepios, around and across traces of **EPI* CTP IOV**L ANQIMOU PERGAMH* in exergue **PRWTWNTRI NEWKORWN*, (cf.S.2534, BMC 319, countermark Howgego 480, Harl Pl.23, 3). Dark brown patina, very good and very rare.
