THRACE, Hadrianopolis, Caracalla, (A.D. 193-217), AE 27, (13.916 grams), obv. Caracalla laureate bust to left draped and cuirassed holding shield and spear, around legend ANT**W*NEINOC AVT K M AVP CEV, rev. Ares standing facing head to left, holding a reversed spear, resting on shield, around **ADRIANO POLEI TWN*, (cf.S.2482, Varbanov 3452 [p.286, illustrated same dies]). Dark green patina, good very fine and very rare.
