SOLD $460

CORINTHIA, Corinth, (400-350 B.C.), silver stater, (8.612 grams), obv. Pegasos flying to left, Q below, rev. head of Athena to left, wearing Corinthian helmet, dolphin before helmet, fig leaf and thymiaterion behind Athena, (cf.S.2626, Calciati 283 [p.226 for reverse type], Ravel 843, cf.779 [same reverse die], cf.BMC 163). Bright, well centred, some obverse surface die rust, otherwise very fine/extremely fine and very rare.

Unusual as the type normally appears with Pegasus standing on the obverse not flying and the above mix of types is unlisted by Calciati.
