ITALY, Bruttium, Terina, (440-425 B.C.), silver stater (Sear and Holloway-Jenkins), (7.490 grams), Group B, obv. head of nymph Terina to left, hair tightly waved and rolled back, ampyx on forehead, olive wreath around, rev. TEPIN[AION] around on left, winged Nike seated to left, on a hydria, wearing a chiton and himation, holds wreath in her extended right arm, caduceus in left hand, (S.506, Holloway - Jenkins 12 [similar dies], SNG ANS 803 [same reverse die], Regling 13). Nearly extremely fine, a magnificent example and very rare.
