ITALY, Bruttium, Croton (Kroton), (c.520 B.C.), silver nomos, stater or didrachm (7.904 grams), obv. Delphic tripod with three handles and legs terminating in lion's feet and set on exergual line of dots between plain lines. Cable and pellet border. QPO to left, rev. Delphic tripod incuse in flan, (S.225, Weber 997 (This Coin), SNG ANS 230 [same dies], SNG Manchester 306, SNG Cop. 1735, Gale 1, BMC 3). Well centred, nearly extremely fine and rare.

Ex Triton I Auction Sale, December 2-3, 1997 (lot 160) and previously from the Sir Hermann Weber Collection No.997. The issue may be even earlier as 530-520 B.C. (Attianese).
