WORLD WAR II, Canteen voucher, 2/29th Battalion A.I.F 1 cent No 81 signed by B.C Hackney Lieut for CAPT. Adjt 2/29 Bn. This note illustrated in Schwan & Campbell and Yarwood p.8. Very fine and very rare.

Ex Sale 54 (lot 3303) and Sale 74 (lot 2741 part). Lieutenant B.C. Hackney was in the epic Battle of Maur in January 1942 and was severely wounded in action. His account of the massacre at Parit Sulong was used as evidence at the Australian War Crimes Court at Los Negros, June 1950.
