ROMANUS III, period of (1030/35-1042), copper Follis (15.47 gm), Anonymous Class B. Constantinople mint, obv. Nimbate facing bust of Christ, raising hand in benediction and holding Gospels, square in nimbus, +EMMA NOVHA, rev. three-line legend, cross on base and two steps, pellet below steps, (S.1823, DOC III B [p.676-7], R.1977, BMC 6-15 [Michael IV]). Portrait very fine, very large flan, otherwise good very fine or better.
